Ingredients

4 cans
(14 1/2 oz. each) pitted tart cherries
1 1⁄2 cup
sugar
1⁄2 cup
Cornstarch
1⁄4 teaspoon
salt
1⁄2 cup
amaretto
1 1⁄2 cup
all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons
sugar
1 1⁄2 teaspoon
Baking Powder
1 teaspoon
grated lemon zest
1⁄4 teaspoon
salt
1⁄2 cup
2% milk
5 tablespoons
butter, melted
 
Vanilla ice cream, optional

Instructions

1. Drain cherries, reserving 1/2 cup juice. Place cherries in inner pot. In a small bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch and salt; stir in reserved 1/2 cup juice until smooth. Stir into cherries. Cover with glass lid. Press slow cook function; select vegetables setting. Press timer; set to 3 hours. Start.

2. Stir amaretto into cherry mixture. For dumplings, in a small bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, lemon zest and salt. In another bowl, whisk milk and melted butter. Add to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Drop by tablespoonfuls on top of hot cherry mixture. Cover with glass lid. Press slow cook function; select vegetables setting. Press timer; set to 1 hour. Start.

3. Remove glass lid; close air frying lid. Press air fry function; select bake setting. Press timer; set to 10 minutes. Start. Cook until lightly browned. If desired, serve warm with ice cream.
